GTA: San Andreas

I love skydiving from the tallest skyscraper in Los Santos and seeing how long I can leave it before opening my parachute.

I tried escaping the first city before I was technically "allowed" in a small plane, and was shot down by a missile fired by a jet fighter which roared past me. When the police say "Don't leave town!" they really mean it!

Money is definitely a problem early on; you don't really start to earn cash for doing missions until you get to the country-side and into San Fierro. You can earn good money by doing the pimping side missions, though; over 15K each time you complete it. About one block west of the barber shop near CJ's house (the one you go to in your first mission) is a gas station/car wash, on the southern end of the gas station is a car called a Broadway. Just hop in, hit R3 and you're off.

Just found a sniper rifle on the top of a outside staircase, and bwahhahahahahaha!!!!! I guess I should do more missions and advance the story but I like random violence I just finished the big smoke(dude he's so gott to be in the police's pocket at least CJ seems suspiscious instead of his standard chump self) mission with the russians chasing you on bikes, cars, and the semi.

The game is great - but I have to say that I hate-hate-hate-hate-hate-hate the PS2 control scheme. I can't manouevre at all. Maybe its me being so used to PC mouse-keyboard schemes and not being able to wrap my head around the controller, but its just is so difficult to control at times - I'm trying to forklift boxes, and just failing utterly. Not to mention that when I switch to targeting, I turn away from the enemy half the time...

I'm finding the game too hard for me. Maybe I'm not the best video gamer, but at the moment I'm finding every single missions really, really hard. Trying them again and again is turning the game into a real chore.

I'm stuck on the first race lowrider mission with Cesar (I just can't win it), and the one where you have to ride the bike alongside the train while Smokey continually misses the guys on top. When you get to the end, Smokey berates you, saying "All you had to do was keep up with the train, CJ!", and I'm like "I kept up with the friggin' train the whole damn way! All YOU had to do was shoot the guys on top - and you didn't!" I'm getting tired of doing the same thing over and over, succeeding in accomplishing the task I'm given, and watching my computer controlled NPC not fulfill his part of it.

Actually, both of those I had no problems with. The ones I had issues with was the the one with Smokey and the Russians - thought that one is pretty much a blast to replay, and the one where I needed to forklift the crates into the van with Ryder - I finally managed to finish that one.

The Lowrider one I won the second time I tried it - just using a lowrider I jacked to doors down from Cesar's place.

The one I'm stuck on now is the dance party one - Arrgh!

I managed that one quite easily. I kinda cheated, though - went in, didn't open the first gate, but opened the warehouse. Killed the guards, got in the forklift and arranged a nice line of crates right by the entrance where the van pulls up. Then I went back and opened the first gate, Ryder drove the van through, and it took me about 30 seconds to load the crates onto the van.

The follow the train mission the trick is to stay a good distance away from the train. BS keeps shooting the train instead of the people on top if you don't. Man I was pissed off until I figured it out, "man all you had to do is follow the train" I so wanted to put a bullet in the back of his head right then.

I'm stuck on this lame dance mission for OG loc. I frakin always hated games like this hit x,x,x x,y,o uhhggg. If I wanted to play one of these games I would of bought one. I'm a bad guy if I want the dang soundsytem I should just walk up pop the DJ and take her van with the sound system in it. I haven't tried any of the cesar missions yet not sure I can handle street racing with my crappy driving skills. Though the mission where you meet cesar is similar to the dance mission but I can at least push the controler in the right direction instead of getting flustered and forgetting wehere the O button is. I play the xbox too much and then the cube and then the dreamcast so remembering this crap on the PS2 is a pain.

That's brilliant. Must remember to think outside the box more often.

In return for that, here's my best advice on the driving missions. Makes liberal use of the parking brake (R1, I believe) to help in cornering. Don't use the [square] button to brake. You'll be able to make much faster turns, and also keep in mind that the markers that you need to hit later in the race indicate what direction you'll be needing to turn next.

this thread is kinda hysterical for those of us who havent played GTA.

look at all you wanna-be gangstas talking about capping people.

although morrus gets props for his crate solution.

you musta been great to have around for infocom games and myst, huh?
