Guard of the Forest

Noldor Elf

First Post
My current character is
Wood Elf Druid 8/Ranger 1/Divine Champion of Mielikki 1

Stats:
STR 14, DEX 16, CON 12, INT 12, WIS 19, CHA 15

Feats: Bloodline of Fire, Empower Spell, Extended Spell, Weapon Focus: Scimitar
Favored Enemy: Drow
Skills: High Consentration & Heal
some knowledge Religion and Arcane, Wilderneslore and profession Herbalist

I'll most likely play him up to 16th level. The idea of character is making him a protector of the Misty Forest, especially one elven village in it.

Any suggestions for suitable feats? I think that I take at least one more level of Divine Champion for 1 extra fighter feat.

What levels I should take? Straight druid? Any other prestice classes to fit this concept?

I'd like have some opinions for two reasons:
1.) You might come up with something that I haven't thought about
2.) It's nice to see other opinions about my character.

Is there any particular reason why you are taking Bloodline of Fire? The feat is really only useful for sorcerers... You'll miss out on the +2 to spell DCs, so you're spending a feat for only a +4 bonus on saving throws against fire effects.

Unless you took it for a roleplaying reason, I'd look for another feat. Spellcasting Prodigy is always a good choice for casters. You also might pick up one of the druid-specific feats from Masters of the Wild, such as Natural Spell, which allows you to cast spells while wild-shaped. I'd also get rid of Weapon Focus. At 10th level, you'll be doing most of your fighting while wild-shaped, and thus, won't need to use your scimitar much.

I'd try to stick with a straight druid. You'll want to get your caster level as high as possible. You probably won't need the levels of Ranger or Divine Champion... the abilities just aren't worth giving up 2 caster levels. Plus, as a straight druid, you'll be able to have more HD of animal companions, and you'll be able to Wild Shape more times per day.

If you do decide to take levels in a prestige class, look for one that improves both your spellcasting ability as well as your Wild Shape ability.

As far as ability scores go, I'd rearrange them to give yourself a higher Con. When wild-shaped, you get the Str, Dex, and Con of your chosen form, but you keep your HPs. So it's best to have a high Constitution. Strength and Dexterity aren't as important.
