Will this be like the rules in BESM - which are usable for pretty much any setting - or will they be focused on technology-based mecha like most mecha games?

In other words, could I use it to make WW2 mecha, fantasy mecha a la Dunbine or Escaflowne, Flintstones mecha (?!), or is it going to be all machine guns, missiles, and nuclear power plants?

Absolutely! d20 Mecha can be used to create anything "mecha" -- and even some things that are not (such as wooden sailing ships). If it's a machine, d20 Mecha can create it.

Since the book isn't done yet, and so might still have room for additions, will it be able to support creating... oh... say... TRANSFORMERS!?

On top of that, will it have rules for gestalt (combiner) mecha?

Finally, what about transectors? Which basically are smaller power armor (medium-sized) augmented humans who can become a part of another mecha. Kinda like Transformers Headmasters and Targetmasters.

I want a system that I can actually build the stats of Fortress Maximus... my favorite Transformer, and it requires other mecha becoming the head and components of a larger robot.

*begs*

:D

Thanks
Chris

I'm slightly curious as to why there is no mention of d20 Slayers. Wasn't that going to precede the release of the d20 BESM book?

Slayers d20 is on schedule for the fall, but hasn't been officially solicited to distributors yet. It will be in the coming months.

Well from what I saw in my copy of D20 Mecha Compendium from DP9, yes all that apparently can be done. Now the only problem is when the D20 Mecha book will get in my hands...*grumbles*

You've just put a smile on my face.

Oh yes... Fortress Maximus shall be mine. :D

Strange thing about Mecha Crusade in Dungehedron, is they didn't take into account MEDIUM-SIZED armor suits... Not all armor is big and bulky. Look at a lot of anime, where they have power suits, and also have GIANT mecha (like Sentai)

Thanks!!
Chris

For Mecha Crusade: Just tweak the rules. It shouldn't be that hard. Just look at what they did with the large mecha and do a reduction.

I just hope that I can combine Mecha Crusade with the upcoming d20 Mecha rules. I may have to mix-and-match and pick-and-choose, but that's the beauty of d20.
