(GUMSHOE isn't on the list of of prefixes, but their is Paranoia which is what more popular than GUMSHOE)

Right, I played this game at a con and it convinced me to go out and buy the pdf. Tomorrow night I am running a game of this with a co-GM, who is actually a police constable. :D

We're basically treating like Law & Order (with the "Chung chung") set in Sydney but the cops have mutant powers).

Should be interesting. Anyone else played? The system is basically all about narrative, players need to find the clues to progress to the next scene. It's d6 but those rolls only happen when Mutant Powers of Standard ability (shoot, drive etc) are used. And it's all point buy, no class and level.

haven't played any gumshoe yet. Not sure which one I want to try first, but this sounds cool. Please post how it went.

I played Mutant City Blues, running the scenario in the back of the book. We had a good time with it.

I liked the setting, and the integration of the law with mutant abilities. For example, certain powers need to be registered if you have them (although most don't), powers leave traces that can be analyzed, and powers are linked together. This means that mutant powers leave evidence at a crime scene, so the police can investigate and gather evidence. The powers being linked means that you can predict powers a criminal might have based on the powers you know they have, and you can rule out suspects if you find out that their powers are very different from those used in the crime. My group did a great job and were constantly using the powers chart to try to connect the dots, and made a lot of good deductions based on the clues they had and the chart.
