Argyle King
Legend
I don't believe I've seen this show up in the news feed yet, and I wasn't aware of it myself until about an hour ago. GURPS Zombies is now available in pdf format. According to the info available over at the SJ Games website, there will be a hardback version available at some point too. The pdf version is available right now and can be found here: http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG31-1004
For me personally, I'm excited about the book because it offers the same in depth coverage of a topic (zombies) that I've come to expect from many GURPS books. Yes, parts of the book are obviously going to deal with GURPS mechanics, but there are also many parts of the book which are not tied to system or mechanics, and serve as good food for thought for any GM, regardless of your game of choice. Horror (which I believe won an Ennie) is a good example of what I mean by that. It was also a GURPS book, but it did a great job of talking about Horror in a manner which could be applied to any game.
I'm also excited about the book because I play the system, and this is an in depth treatment of a subject which is popular among many of my players. I'll be getting the pdf, but I also still plan to get the hardback copy once it is available. I see this (possibly in combination with GURPS Horror) serving to provide me with a wide range of adventure ideas with a darker tone to them. If you do play GURPS, as I do, there's also a lot of good pre-made material which could easily be plopped into a game.
