Gutsnake (MoF) + Stoneskin = Super spell combo?

SITUATION:
Okay, so I'm an 8th level wizard and cast stoneskin on myself, then cast gutsnake from Magic of Faerun on myself a bit later (but still within the stoneskin's duration).

MY QUESTION IS:
Gutsnake is a part of me (it says so in the spell description), so is it protected by the stoneskin as is the rest of my body? Do I need to cast stoneskin after I cast gutsnake to get it protected? Or do I need to cast stoneskin twice: once on me, once on my gutsnake?

Please answer ASAP, as I have to choose a new 4th level spell and am thinking of getting gutsnake to go with my improved invisibility (hehe!) and stoneskin. Then I will be an improved invisible/stoneskinned 8th level wizard with a free action attack equal to a giant constrictor snake (see MM) that does not impact my spellcasting, hp, movement, etc. It gets 60 hp and a juicy +13 bite attack (1d8+10 damage), 15' reach, and can improved grapple a victim to constrict them automatically each round for over 10 points of damage!!! It lasts for 1 round/level... plenty of time to guard me/mess people up while I shoot lightning bolts and other nasty spells!!! :D

Well it's one of those things where no definitive rules really exist. Doubtless, folks in this forum would be able to come up with excellent arguments either way (just take a look at the Mind Blank thread), but ultimately its up to your DM.

If it were me, I would say spells that you cast on yourself would probably apply to the Gutsnake under most circumstances.

I'd say no - the gutsnake is not really part of you, and thus it isn't protected by stoneskin.

It doesn't share your AC, your stats, your hit points, or your actions. Killing it has no effect on the caster (except ending the spell prematurely). It's pretty much a separate creature that just happens to be growing out of your stomach.

I suppose you could cast stoneskin on it, but it'd be kind of a waste since gutsnake only lasts 1 round/level.

Duuude! I thought of another spell you could definetly milk this for.

The Acid Mantle or whatever, from Magic of Faerun. Your touch attacks do like Corrosive Touch. That means an extra energy type damage each round by the gutsnake! OR, if you want protection too, why not go for Fire (Chill) Shield? Energy damage, AND resistance!

As a player of freak legion I just love the way a gutsnake makes one look. I get a kick out of the killer umbilicle cord idea.

I am even thinking about making a mini for someone using this spell, might look obcene though, :D

And there's Spine Tendril From BoEMII that makes your spine extend, come out from the base of your skull, and have it make disarm or grapple checks at guy up to 10' away. Don't you just love magic? :D

I´d vote for the its not part of you vision... its a magical construct after all.

Unless it really comes from your guts... :) ( Just eat some spicy stuff and see that snake doing extra damage ) With your imprv invisibility and a 15' range attack.... the lack of stoneskin wont be a major problem. To guess where a invisible guy attacking from 15' away and 5' stepping as well is very nigh impossible.
