Gygax Adventure Module

Troll Lord

First Post
Troll Lord Games is happy to announce that Gary Gygax has agreed to publish a fresh adventure module for the d20 system, "The Hermit." The adventure module promises to return gamers to the halcyon days of role playing games and all that a Gygaxian fantasy vision entails.

Troll Lord Games is also very proud to announce that Daniel Horne has agreed to do the cover art for the project. You can check out Mr. Horne's art at http://www.geocities.com/danielrhorne/index2c.html

"The Hermit," at 64 pages is complete with a veritable host of intertwined adventures, maps, monsters and more. When asked to describe "The Hermit" Mr. Gygax remarked, "It has many elements
of play, outdoor searching and encounters, a small dungeon encounter, an underwater adventure where the characters are minute, monsters are
pond creatures," and a whole lot more.

Priced at $11.95 "The Hermit" will be usable in both the d20 system and the LA game system. It is slated for a August 2002 release.

August... great more lessons in patience. (who says you don't learn things/grow as a person through role playing?):D

Looking forward to this and your other releases (still waiting for dark druids and codex germania).

The Hermit from the Caves of Chaos? Hmm, I hadn't thought of that, I'll have to ask Gary. Having read over the module it is going to be one wild ride. Without giving too much away, you might want to brush up on your biology and your micronauts! :D (I don't think that gave anything away LOL)

Turlogh, Dark Druids is set for a June release, but may make it out in late May and the Codex Germania is moving along nicely for a summer release (we are hoping by Gencon). Have you stopped by the web page and checked out the cover in progress?

We've got a whole pot load of material coming out for you folks...the Companion books, Gary Gygax's World Builders, some more modules (the module is NOT dead my friends) and of course Comrades.....

I check your page out pretty much daily:)

There is an impressive amount of struff coming out, can't wait.

By the way the link to the "Download Eurich Gunshoff, Baron of Cleves" on your Lords of Erde doesn't work.

The cover to the Codex looks grim but good.

Are you planning on releasing any setting information on Inzae?

Turlogh,

Hey how's it going? We do have a nice lineup for the Summer and the Fall looks to be even better. We'll be launching our line of Companion Books shortly (with Heart of Glass) and have a line of World Builder Books by Gygax shaping up nicely.

Personally I love Doug Kovac's work, he's the one doing the Codex Germania cover. He offers really unique perspectives, he is also doing the cover for the upcoming module, St. Anton's Fire.

As for Inzae, oh yes. For those of you who may not know Erde, our mainline campaign setting, has an inner world, Inzae. This is a far more grim world than most your used to. We have a number of things coming out for it. Three Companion Books, Bergholt, Black Moon, and an untitled book. All three are 65 pages, perfect bound with a double sided fold out map with covers by Jason Walton. Also, in Gaming Frontiers we have a never before published excerpt and a new monsters......will knock your socks off!!

And last but not least, the link to Eurich is broken because I'm waiting for the picture of his character. Each NPC will go up with his own portrait, drawn by Chad Sergesketter.

Thanks for listening.....:D

I'm one of those people who still hasn't forgiven EGG for making me wait seven years for the Temple of Elemental Evil... and the bloody thing wasn't even complete!!! :)

Nevertheless, I will still buy this... in 2004 when it's finished.

Cheers

 Well!

You wouldn't want an adventure that wasn't throughly play-tested, would you? Besides, I think the time between my first mention of the ToEE in DRAGON and it's actual release was more like four ot five years.. :D

Anyway, THE HERMIT is nearly done. Lee Vanderlip is puttng on the finishing touches on some D20 materiial, and then it'll be off to Steve at TLG--end of next week is the date we're shooting for.

I do wish Steve hadn't given so many details away! I had hoped to surprise not a few players with the pond portion ot the module.

In case anyone might wonder why I have been pretty scarce on these boards, it's because I am writing a *really* big new module which we also hope to have published in dual system D20/LA game. To the best of my knowledge it's quite unlike any other adventure ever done, and I am pretty sure that it will provide about a year's worth of play assuming once a week sessions.

I will begin play-testing at OdyssyCon, this weekend, then with my LA game group here, and as I get more of the encounters domne--about half completed now, I'll send it to a couple of associates for more LA and some D20 test play too. If all goes well, the base should be finished by late sumer, so it might be available for Xmas... In publishing terms that's like tomorrow!

Cheerio,
Gary
