Damn and tarnation. Now I've seen I've given away a major plot thread.....well alls best forgotten. I'll not mention it again. Suffice it to say, the module is really a kick ass romp with that classic feel. You old timers will recognize it immediately and those of you fresh to the game will hopefully discover why Gary made the game so long ago!
And about the time Derulbasker!!
It is true Gary has already placed the module on the TLG desk for innitial art aquisition and he is putting the final touches on the text. The cover is under way and all looks good for an August release....keep your fingers crossed

Of course its well on the way. Daniel emailed the other day and we are hoping for the first drafts of the cover pretty soon to give you guys a good idea of what to look for. The module really is unique. It will have a bunch of new spells and a few new monsters in it. The d20/LA material will be clearly distinguished so no one system interfers with the other.
I don't know why but I'm really looking forward to working more on this project (have to wrap up Heart of Glass and Dark Druids first).

We made the tight turnover time, and THE HERMIT is in the able hands of the TLG folks now
Mike, the test of the next one I'm doing, THE HALL OF MANY PANES, went well. the players liked the backstory, and the two adventure areas they hit were enjoyed. One chap in the group was most perceptive, figured out how to solve the main problem of the encounter area ther were in, and thus the game concluded well in about 4.5 hours playing time--an hour of that readying Avatars. As I "cut to the chase" quickly, though, to get to play, my time estimates for play value seem pretty solid, but subject to revision. Currently I believe there'll be about 200 hours tome to complete the module is the GM moves the actiuon along rapidly. It could take longer to play through.
As a complete aside, the OAD&D dungeon crawl I also ran at OddCon ended in about 4 hours time with the ghastly deaths of the entire party, they entering the dreaded crypts and there encountering first thouls, and then assistant ghouls, were served as supper to same...

SHAMELESS PLUG FOR ME I saw my name mentioned by Gary Gygax above and thought I might chime in.
Yea, my first professional game project completed!
As you all may know or don't know, I've been hanging around the ENworld boards ever since Eric Noah himself first started the Unofficial 3E site way back three years ago.
Anyway, I hope to be doing more projects with Gary in the future and I hope everyone has as much fun with The Hermit as I did converting the d20 side of it.
My D&D group had a blast with all the twists and turnes one must make in order to survive in the adventure, no spoilers from me.

_THE HALL OF MANY PANES_ sounds like it will be a great module -- it will take me many months (or even years) to get through something like that at our current play rate. Looks like it will be a great deal for the price!

I've had a chance to look over Lee's work on the Hermit and he has the two systems separated quite nicely. Now, of course, TLG has to go in and format the whole thing. But with Lee's work behind us that will make the whole thing a lot easier. We are going to make it so those playing the d20 system can read through it without being interupted by the LA material and vice versa. Whole project is coming together nicely (and without jinxing oursevles, its still on for a June release!
