Ha. Did You See...

I think I take issue with the "nobodies" part of that, but as for the "Geek," well, he's got my number. I'm a lifelong Geek and proud of it!

or being responsible for Gigli.

Thier responsible for Gigli? Well I'm never buying another Dragon Magazine again until they apologize. And to think I used to like Dragon.

Well about a month ago I did start a thread ranting about how I hated the changes to Dragon. Although their last mag wasn't so bad.

There have been quite a few 'Dragon' threads over the previous years.

  • Halfling violence pictures
  • Evil Clown Posse Advertisments
  • Declining Quality questions
  • Vile Content
  • Disappointment with Issue 100
  • Elven sexuality article
  • LGJ Content
  • New publisher
  • Dragon Annual debates
  • Page count discussions
  • Female halfling artwork
  • Succubus Cover
  • Dragon Cover art
  • French miniatures ads

And these are just some of the big ones that I can recall of the top of my head. Dragon has had just as many supporters as detractors, IMHO, but let's be clear...we talk about Dragon a great deal. The dungeon/poly issue is only a more recent development. For almost two years, Dungeon was rarely a topic of discussion.

I seem to remember someone trying to talk me into taking a job I wasn't even interested in as a result.

HAHAHAHA! That is too funny. I can't remember where that is from, but I seem to recall hearing something similar, a Woody Allen movie, perchance?

WEll, the letter seems like a drive by to me. Someone who came to the boards, read a single thread and then formed a bunch of.... interesting opinions of about EN World based solely on asingle thread. Matthew Sernett, Senior Editor of Dragon, has a very good response though. So, thumbs up to Mr Sernett as he responded in a helpful and polite manner. Basically, his response was that they do read internet threads, and they can be helpful. However, it is better for people to say what they like and what they want to see, instead of complaining about what they do not like and what they don't want to see.

Who cares about what Paizo puts into Dragon magazine? Do any of us in EN World care?

Apparently.

Let's face it, Dragon magazine is the monthly journal for Dungeons & Dragons. When the Dragon speaks, it speaks for all of us, whether we like it or not. So when something that some of us may consider disagreeable comes up, there's going to be controversy.
