Hackmaster Miniatures & Scale

Hey all,

I was browsing the Kenzer site the other day and saw that they offer a line of minis. I liked a few of the sculpts, but I seem to recall that their figures are 35 mm or maybe even 40 mm. Does anyone know? Are they significantly larger than the average Reaper sculpt?

Thanks!

The Kenzer sculpts are about the same size as the Reaper "Dark Heaven" Line.

I tried to add a size comparison picture but was unable to attach it.

I'm pretty sure I once read on Kenzer's forums that the figs are 28mm scale. I've used them with Warhammer & Reaper figs and not noticed any jarring differences in scale. You're more likely to find that the Hackmaster version of a monster might be bigger/smaller than the 3.Xe version. i.e. their ogre mini is gigantic (probably closer to hill/fire giant size).

Thanks for the info! I haven't had a chance to see them in person. Boston is a tough place to buy minis. Aside from the Games Workshop store here, there's only one store that has a small selection of Reaper.

I asked this same question at the Kenzer booth at GenCon, and was able to speak with the guy who sculpts all their minis, and he compared their minis to Reapers. His answer was actually quite surprising. All the Kenzer minis are 28-30mm scale. The reason they seem to be bigger is the method of measuring the 28-30 mm. Some companies measure from bottom of the base to the top of the head, some from bottom of base to the eyes, some from bottom of feet to top of head, and some from bottom of feet to eyes. The main difference is that some of their minis are a bit "stocky", so they look bigger all around. Kenzers dwarven minis are exactly the same height as Reapers minis, although their humans are a little bit taller (but some people are taller than other in real life). In the end, they are the same scale as Reaper, but the sculpters have different methods of measuring.
