Half-Drow Elf

This is very silly and removes an interesting option for characters. Not in my campaign.

basically what i did was, since my character was raised as a surface elf, i kept their spells. (what was taught) I added some of the drow racial spells. I kept the surface elf stats, (yes full on elf stats) unless mixed with another race it is still a full elf, just two different kinds. And he is shunned by most who meet him, so he has to stay covered so others can't see his skin.

i split the appearance he has skin like a drow, (a little lighter) and the hair of a surface elf. His eyes are yellow (that's for storyline purposes though)

I'd say while it works for the first few generations, or as a mechanical trait, eventually there should be an element of merging.

In 3E, (Races of Faerun) Wood elves are the result of generations of hybridization between "green elves" (wild elves) and moon elves.

Dark elven genes tend to dominate in the fiction (so the offspring of a moon elf and a dark elf, will be mechanically a dark elf- but if said offspring hybridizes with moon elves, for several generations, they might eventually get "paler".
