I'm thinking unless Charisma is going to be a dump stat, Half-Elf everytime.
I mean feats are gorgeous, but a feat does not possibly equate to a +2 Cha boost, Elvish, 1 additional skill proficiency, longer life, fey ancestry & darkvision.

Seems grossly unfair. What say you, what have I missed?

Plain Human works better from a powergaming mind set, and only four classes are Cha primary, besides there is just the whole baggage that comes from being a half elf instead of full human, if anything the half elf feels more human-like than the plain human. Also a human with feat can get a de facto +2 on any score of their choice by stacking one of those +1 with the +1 from the feat.

On the flipside who cares? both can get the job done! Next is the edition of story first and it seems to be able to deliver it.

You're not playing a class who cares about Charisma? The +2 Cha barely registers if you're not a Cha dependent class. One language that a lot of people speak in the party is no big deal. Longer life is flavor, not a game benefit. 1 skill proficiency for each, so that's a wash. Fey ancestry and Darkvision are certainly nice, but there are so many feats that enhance the character, I'd almost always go with the feat unless I saw NOTHING that fit the character, which seems really really unlikely.

Elves are wimps. Half-elves are half-wimps, but they are still far more wimps than men or dwarves.

Best race?
Pump your primary, pump Dex or Con, +2 Cha, AND high elves leave you alone?

Where do I sign up? Keep your feats and fire breath.

I thought Half-Elves only got a +1 on one other ability score.
