Half-Ogres & Half-Giants ?!?

I´m using in my campaign a sort of Half Stone Giant....
2La, Large size, +4 Str and Con, -4 Dex and Int and darkvision.
As a plus, the race can eat almost anything to gain nourishment (stones, dirt, sand, you name it...)

I dont know if it can be balanced in any game... but it is working in mine, for NPCs and one single character.

Seriously, half-giants should only have psionics in Dark Sun. And they were size Large. (But not size Huge like the Real Giants in Dark Sun).

Half-Ogres would have had powerful-build if that ability had been decided when the half-ogres were released for 3e.

That brings up a good point. If I end up using any Half-Giants, I'll have to make it dpendent upon which race is the Giant half. And well I suppose I could do the same for the other half also rather than just assume human. A humanoid-giant crossbreed would probably be more likely any-who.

When I get around to putting together some builds, I'll post them for comments.

Half-Ogres are in the Races of Destiny book which is a v3.5 suppliment. I'm pretty sure the 'powerful build' trait was in use by then.

*sniff* Dark Sun Memories....

To be honest, I think they did a pretty crappy job converting the half-giant into 3.5 stats. I mean, Giants in DS were 12 feet tall - that's large-size, baby. It definately ain't no Powerful Build.

Tri Kreen are Large, long as a Centaur is. But they got squished into medium frames. 11' long and 7' tall at the shoulder does not make medium in my book.
