Half-Price Books . . . your source for liquidated books!

Stopped by my local HPB today. No books caught my eye but I found a used copy of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back for $3. I've been wanting that for a long time.

Stopped at Half Price Books in Mayfield Hts, OH yesterday. Was hoping for some of the books philreed listed, but no joy. They did have several recent FR books, however (Champions of Ruin, Champions of Valor).

They also have a ton of 2E books, if anyone wants... no, no. Who I am kidding? No one wants those.

One way to tell the difference between a liquidated item, and one that someone brought in and sold to the store, is the price tag. If it's a HPB sticker with bar code then it was liquidated. If it's a regular sticker then it's something someone brought in and sold to them.

In Austin, the HPB on South Lamar appears to be the best one. I've found three SW Dark Side Sourcebooks there over the last few years. Yay, eBay!

I still remember buying my copy of Fantasy Wargaming for $3 c. 1992. (I supect it was a liquidation.)

I don't get down to that one much these days though. So, yes, everyone in the Greater Austin area, only go only to the South Lamar location. It's the best. Do not go near the Parmer/MoPac, Anderson Mill, or Round Rock locations!

(Incidentally, the Round Rock HPB & the Round Rock Dragons Lair are now in the same shopping center for maximum gamer convenience. I especially enjoy it when I buy a book at HPB, & it still has the original DL price tag on it! My T20 book: $44.95 on the back, $14.98 on the front.)

Incidentally, Half Price is also a good place to sell used games... they give pretty good dollar, for a retailer.

OK, I've read that sentence several times now, & I still can't grasp the meaning of "sell...games".

I'll have to check with my pastor, but that sounds dangerously close to heresy to me.

Well...gamer heresy.
