halfling jedi!

We used the SWd20 rules to play "D&D in space." The result was, odd, to say the least. The party consisted of:

A halfling scoundrel named Ike
An elven Soldier/Monk named Elvis Bearpaw
And a human wizard who called himself "Elminster"

In all, it was cool, until a wizard killed my elf with a lightsaber.

Sullustans would be a close match in my opinion. I see no reason it wouldn't work, after all I use critters from the Monster Manual to go against my players.

Most definantly

I wrote up a few little books detailing D&D/D20 races in SW as well as Alternity species. And I use several SW races in my D&D games as well.

Sure, it's a little strange when the SW party fights a gang of Drow Elf Soldiers lead by an Ogre Mage Sith Lord, or the D&D party takes on a Rodian ranger and a Wookiee barbarian. However, the systems only require some minor tweaks to work well with each other as far as races are concerned.

The one thing I haven't tried is tweaking classes to work in either system. Granted, classes like Fighters and Rogues are already in both system essentially, and others like Monks and Barbarians would be quite easy to port over to SW, the real problem lies in the magic and Force using classes. How well do Jedi and Wizards/Clerics/Sorcerers/etc. match up? What could be done to Force users to make them balanced with magic users and psionic characters in a fantasy game and vice versa?

Anyway, for the time being, I'm content with simply porting monsters and races between the sub-systems!

Good gaming,
Kiser

Sullustans aren't small, they're medium-sized.

A Squib from the Alien Anthology might be a better match.

Halflings might be a little powerful compared to the SW races.

Well, what is a halfling but a shaved Ewok? (At least since halflings in 3e are basically kender...)

Of course, I'm not sure I could stand an Ewok Jedi...

I'm playing Dragonstar and though I'm not yet allowing jedis one of my players decided to try to make one using the monk/sorcerer/cleric classes:

Anyway he is a halfling/halfdragon monk... named Jola ;-)

PS: I make him talk in a yoda voice and its hilarious... He does get rp experience for it ;-)
