Here's what I'd do:
Str: 16 (-2) = 14
Dex: 10 (+2) = 12
Con: 12
Int: 10 (with 32 point buy, you don't even need to dump, really)
Wis: 12
Cha: 16
that's 10 + 2 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 10 = 32 points.
This way you have a decent strength score (don't fool yourself, you need it as much as the fighter), good charisma, 12 dex so you fit nicely into platemail, 12 con to keep you alive a little while longer, and 12 Wisdom gives you a bonus first level spell and you don't need higher than that until 11th level, by which time you may want to take a prestige class, or at the very least you should be able to get a +2 Wisdom item.
