Halflings and Spiked Chains

Source? Please and Thanks.

The claim is technically wrong, but happens to be true in practice. Halflings can't use two-handed weapons *sans the Small property* and all double-weapons are and will continue to be two-handed. So unless and until the developers get around to putting Small on more than just the shortbow, halflings are out of luck, by RAW. It blows, and massively restricts their options in optimized play, far more so than any other race IMO.

I was asking about where the spiked chain feat could be found, which was answered.

You are correct but just a little wrong in your wording. Double weapons have a specific clause that disallows them for use by Small creatures.

The Spiked Chain is a two-handed weapon that can also become a double weapon with the proper multiclass feat. So the small character is screwed twice in this instance.

Yeah, it did not take long to start pulling obscure rules out of obscure sources. Reminds me a lot of 3.5.

Actually, the rule about double weapons being two-handed and thus not being usable by small characters is in the Adventurer's Vault, the first book to have double weapons in them (it's in a blue box in the new weapons section that introduces double weapons). Hardly an obscure rule out of an obscure source when it's the only book to have double weapons, and the first appearance of double weapons (all future appearances have been feats turning a two handed weapon, which is already too big for small creatures, into dual weapons).
