[Halloween Game Idea] Help?? [Jester Stay Out!]

My PCs are about 2-3rd level ... i have an idea that involves a small town on a foggy night (ok so we are playing Nov 1st. Sue me). In this town, there is talk of a local legend. A man named Sam Hain (or Sam Arionbed = Baron Samedi).

Im thinking some zombie action and keeping the man from rising from his grave.

I also want to focus on a balding, neurotic wizard named Charles Brown with a beholder like pet. Since beholders are CR 13, i was thinking the beholderkin Eyeball (since its CR 1/2) and maybe making it bigger or giving it a class of sorcerer so it could enlarge itself.

The title?

"It the Great Beholder, Charlie Brown!"

And yes, im serious.

I don't know if this is at all helpful, but years ago I came across a post-apocalyptic, Peanuts-grown-up story, where Linus had snapped one year and sacrificed Sally to try and raise the Great Pumpkin. Only the Great Pumpkin turned out to be an incredibly powerful Demon Lord or something, and he and Linus went on to conquer or destroy much of the world, or something. Charlie Brown was leading the resistance movement. It was... surreal... to say the least.

btw- You should probably have an awakened dog with some ranks in Profession: Pilot

Anywho, any other ideas?

I have it laid out like this:

Day 1
- PCs enter the town as the sun is setting
- Festival going on (RP Oppertunity)
- That night, zombie raid!

Day 2
- People are weary of the new people who came to town the night before.
- Local sage tells them of a local legend (i havent decided between Sam Arionbed (spells Baron Samedi) or Sam Hain). Local legend was that he was a promising dooctor who started dabbbling in magic after his mother passed away and was trying to find a way to bring her back to life. He raised her as a zombie and slowly, his mind became corrupt and started raising zombies. Children took to dressing in costumes in hopes they would scare the man away. The locals locked him up and made it so he couldnt cast spells anymore. He escaped so everyone started leaving him offerings so he wouldnt send his zombies to attack them. No one ever saw him again. And now its starting up. (he will have the zombie lord template from Denizons of Darkness)
- PCs go to looking for the mysterious man while the folks still carry on with their fall festival and give their offerings.
- PCs will eventually track it down to a local wizard named Charles Brown (who is a necromancer) with a small sized floating eyeball (Beholderkin), who wants them dead now they know his secret. He will enlarge the beholderkin and fight with it.

Anything else i should add?

Maybe the players wil freak out when all the adults in town start talking like Peanuts adults: "Whah, whah whah whah whah."

I LOVE Marcy, she was the coolest Peanuts character ever! Too bad you don't see her on more of the merchandise.

Give Charles real poor self asteem, and have him offer to help them with the zombie lord- provided they can convince a little nymph with red hair to marry him...

Well, that girl CB has a crush on--the little red-headed girl--could be a paladin sent to infiltrate and then smite him. Perhaps the group could get her on their side....
