Halo 2 versus Half Life 2

ok, fellas, for those who've played both, how do they compare? I've played Halo2--good game, but i loved the first one too. Pros? Cons? Halo2 single player campaign's on the short side, even on Heroic. And it LOOKS like the first game, which isn't bad, but not real different, which would have been good.

Being real different for the sake of being real different wouldn't really be necessarily a good thing. Halo 2 improves over it's predecessor on several levels. Yes, it's an evolutionary step, not a revoluationary one. I don't view that as a bad thing.

I haven't gotten Half-life 2, yet, but early reviews indicate it's quite good...but they play considerably differently, as they have a different emphasis. Hopefully we'll see HOW different shortly.

I do know that I'm enjoying Halo 2 more than I am Doom 3, even though Doom 3 looks nicer overall. Jacking a ghost from a covenant elite is just priceless. :)

Even unjacking one...is even sweetier :D(recapturing the vehicle:) )

I WANTED to like Doom 3, i was such a fan of the first ones, but alas, the game did not impress me beyond the first 2 hours of gameplay. Great monsters, really great, but they get boring to kill over and over and over...

HL2 is wonderful (figured I'd play for 15min before bed... went to sleep 2 hours later). I wouldn't call it the second coming or anything, but it's a blast and very pretty. The only real downside is Steam. Even though I knew what I was getting into when I preordered the game, I still don't think Steam is a good idea.

Personally, I didn't like Halo, and don't own an Xbox so I likely won't be able to play Halo 2 until it's ported to the PC (if ever). So no real comment there.

Definitely. The first time I had it happen was when a covenenant guard grabbed me and yanked me out of the warthog! I was stunned for a second, then got back up in his face , took it back and showed him where the rubber meets the road.

But chicks dig heavy armor. :)

As for Half-Life 2, initial reports from one of my friends is that it took hours to get the game UNLOCKED before he could even play....and waiting 2 hours to actually play a game you've already paid for is pretty irritating. Other than that, though, it sounds good.

YOOOOO!!!, that is the way to do....:D, on the warthog, I chuck a grenade into it...HAHAHA!!! BOOM!!!

Half Life 2 Screenshots in action...*SPOILERS*

Okay...I am doing this for those who love the game, if you don't want to see the shots, don't look.

Second, there will be a 10 seconds at best, a massive DL on the forum I am putting the link for, due to the screenshoots size in the thread.

HALF-LIFE 2 SCREENSHOTS!

First...*Handing out buckets for the drool flood to come, and giving out heavy towels to wipe away the tears that will fall...freely.*

Half Life 2 does look like a pretty game. Too bad i don't have a puter fast enough to run it :(
6 years ago i bought a state-of-the-art daddy machine so i could play Half Life 1; i've never regretted it...
