Hammer boots revised

Hammer boots : These heavy boots with half-inch steel underlaying the bottom are almost weightless when worn. They have extremely sturdy, fine silk cords that cross over the tongue from each side, giving them a grip around the foot. When put on and laced up (two MEAs - one for each shoe)) the wearer may kick at a door, knock back an opponent or resist being tripped. Both shoes must be worn for these to function.

When kicking in a door, the shoes enact a knock spell each time they are used.

They may also be used in combat to knock an opponent back 5-feet and leave them prone (a standard action).

While worn, you gain a +4 circumstance bonus on your oposed check against trip attacks.

Caster Level: 12th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, caster level 12th+, Sturdy boots (2gp), Fine silk thread 2ft(40 cp); Market Price: 60,002gp 40 cp. Cost to make: 30,002 gp 40cp

No way to defend against this!? No size restriction, nothing?

"On the floor, you whimpy dragon!" :D

I'd probably rather design this ability as an improved trip attempt with some decent bonus.

Also prerequisites should include knock and maybe Improved Trip, IMHO.

DM: "You run up to the sewer lid and give it a good swift stomp! Shortly afterwards the large iron disk-like lid unscrews itself, pops off, and lands to the side with a loud CLANK! as the mystic power of your boot grants you access to the dismal tunnels below."

I won't even go into kicking locked glass windows... definately odd.. it sounds a bit goofy... amusing nonetheless, but still quite odd.

Why not just give them a bonus to strength checks to break down doors? Work it like the Destructive Rage feat found in MotW.

And the "knocking people over thing" should be similar to the Knock Down feat (from S&F). If you really want to send them flying backward as well, toss in the Knockback weapon ability from MoF on top of it.

The opposed trip bonus is cool. As long as it's clear the bonus doesn't apply to making trip attacks, just resisting them.
