Strangely, no cake. I did get a few presents, though.
I had a few friends over to play games. As opposed to a few years ago, when I'd run a RPG session, now I have more friends and a much greater interest in board games. So: Arkham Horror, Ra, Zombies, Munchkin, Puerto Rico, and Citadels were played by my friends and me.
Citadels was one of my presents. It's a light euro-style fantasy-themed card game for 2-7 players, and I strongly recommend it. There's a really nice mechanic at the start of each turn where you secretly choose a role for yourself for the turn - Assassin, Thief, Magician, King, Priest, Merchant, Architect or Warlord. The Assassin's special ability is to make another player miss a turn... but you choose a role to miss the turn, not the player, so you're never quite sure if the role you chose to assassinate is actually being played or not...
