Comet has some good stuff sometimes. The Dark Crystal was on the other day. For me, Comet changed from a channel that got good reception to one that gets terrible reception. It's now part of the same digital channels with Heroes and Icons. I can't always watch them when I want to.

They're 13, 14, and 15. When I was their age swing dancing had made a comeback. At a middle school dance one of my teachers and her husband did a swing dance. The next day she said she got in trouble for doing it. I think they thought the dance was inappropriate and they were supposed to be chaperones not dancing.

When I was 11 or so, our gym class had a dance unit that lasted about a month or so. We did some square dancing and The Charleston ( 🤷🏾‍♂️ ) as well as some aerobicizing and other stuff.

However, the strongest memory of that class was that the teacher allowed us to bring music to be played on the record player. 45s only. Only one person did, though, and she brought two of the hottest songs on the radio at the time: J. Geils “Freezeframe” and “Centerfold”.

I love(d) both, but imagine dancing to the same two sub-5min songs over and over again for an hour long class for more than a week. Essentially, it was like this:

I made sure that when it came out, that I bought a “Best of J.Geils” CD for my collection, which had both songs on it. To be clear, I bought it for those 2 songs in particular. But I don’t know if I’ve ever played it.

Years ago I learned of the Star Wars radio dramas. If you're not familiar, they're based on the original movies and broadcast on NPR. I have not listened to The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi, yet. I'm listening to Star Wars* currently. I found podcast episodes I can download and listen to while driving.

This is a second listen to Star Wars. The first time was on audio tape. There are more scenes and details not in the movie. In this Obi-Wan kills the thugs in the cantina. He doesn't just disarm one of them. He also uses the Force to influence the merchant buying Luke's landspeeder. So far, I'm at Han's meeting at the spaceport with Heater, not Jabba the Hutt.
