Well Glen Cook's Garret Books ARE film Noir/Pulp Fiction fantasy novels. Very entertaining. There's also Stephen Brust's Jherreg series, which is more pulp/crime fantasy fiction. There have been a couple of noir SF books over the years. In many respects William Gibbson's early cyberpunk stuff is really noir SF. I'm sure there are others, but that's all that springs to mind at the moment.

Yep. I was more talking about the kind of pulp revival these books represent. A series of 'pulp fantasy' or sf in the same nostalgic style..
