When I read the topic title, the idea of a Diamond Spider immediately leapt to mind.

When I read over the actual original post, I was thinking, "I hope any aliens stopping by to visit Terra don't treat us the same way and glue our parts together to see what happens."

I searched youtube for Palpimanus, and whoa, that's one impressive Spider. Looks like something out of the Plioscene Epoch. Looks like something I am going to make about 7 feet tall and place as a Boss in the next adventure I run.

I don't know what kind it is, but those are the 4 main eyes (of eight) that Jumping Spiders have to facilitate their jumping & hunting. They have excellent binocular vision, and, as I recall, some color vision. Some have vision good enough to perceive images on TV...and react to them.

Spiders are more terrifying every day. Brown recluses are migrating north, and now even more terrifying hunting spiders?! At least they only eat other spiders. @_@
