Has anyone actually done "chase scale" vehicle combat?

I'm interested in trying out the vehicle combat rules for high-speed car-chase scenes, but as far as I know, nobody has ever published maps for d20 vehicle combat on the 1-inch = 50-foot chase scale. Has anybody tried it without?

I highly recommend using Adamant's Hot Pursuit chase rules. It's a more abstract system which leads to faster and ultimately easier combat. I'm sure the writer will come in and pimp it as well, so you can ask him any questions about it.

It's cheap, and far better than trying to play around with 'scale' and number of squares.

Let me second the Adamant chase rules recommendation -- I've used them several times in my game, and find that they're exciting, fun, and don't take too long to manage.

Yes, jez, here I am. I don't know how you knew that -- it's like you're psychic or something.

Anyhoo, I knew something had to be done when I read a description on the WotC site about how to use "chase scale" -- they had this CRAZY system where you kept the hero's car in the center and moved everything around them. It was mind-boggling.

Hot Pursuit is available at fine PDF retailers everywhere. And don't miss the follow up: On Foot, for non-vehicle chases.

:D

I don't know about the hot pursuit thingy. But Spycraft (2.0) has a good chase/combat system. The chases work with all kinds (foot, air , etc). It's abstract so no grids.

So, will we ever see it in print, or do I have to use barsoomcore's credit card number to get it?

(Bwah-ha-ha) :]

We've used a battlemat and liberal use of a wet towel to constantly erase stuff. It sucked, frankly. I don't like it.
