Has anyone else read the 1st Eberron Novel?

Information about why this came to be seems to be under a ban as well (altough it's been hinted that some things said by certain individuals to certain authors might be part of the reason).

That's exactly what happened. I remember some of the posts, and I was appalled by the ignorance, stupidity, and sheer rudeness of some of the posters. I mean, freedom of speech is all that, but get a friggin grip and get a few manners. Thanks to their behaviour, the rest of the normal people on the boards are deprived of the opportunity to discuss novels, talk with authors, etc.

I *hate* how some people (especially on the WotC boards) at times figure that just because they're on a message board, they can throw common decorum to the wind and treat people in ways they'd never do in real life.

Actually, on the Dark Sun board just this weekend, a poster came on, mentioned he had just returned from Iraq, and was saying hi to old friends on the boards, and he was ready to talk Dark Sun again. Some guy from Quebec came on with a first post, accusing the other guy of being cannon fodder and slaughtering innocents and stuff. No joke. Many of us may not agree with what's going on over there, but the WotC boards, and the EN World boards are for gaming, not politics. Nobody feels like being assaulted when they log online to take part in discussing a favorite hobby. That particular thread wasn't just locked down, but was entirely deleted.
