Has anyone tried Grim-n-Gritty Hit Point and Combat Rules, Version 4.0

We ran a brief game using them. It was fun, definitley more realistic and dangerous. We also used facing rules from UA in that game.

I used some old Martial Artist rules, compatible with Grim'n Gritty (I hope I wrote it well)...

I liked it, we can play using non-stupid fighters, he have fighters that use their heads in combat rather than throwing attacks from one side to another.

And now, I found you have the 4th versión. But, even being 100% Open Game content we must pay for it... weird?

Because I want those rules, but, without reading the content of the book before... how?

I mean, i need to improve or update the martial artist system, does this rules have this rules inside? Are there Epic Martial Artist rules inside? I don't want to pay for content I don't need now, even being a good tool for future reference.

Not much to add here other than I am a long time fan of Ken's work and have three different version of his G-G pdfs on my hard-drive {4.0 included} as well as his skills-n-feats Martial Arts/Psionics from the old Sleeping Emporium site..

I actually prefer the revised and simplified rules as it fits my play style better. It does get weird when dealing with higher level characters and/or some monsters....

still waiting patiently for a group willing to let me use the rules
