I JUST found out what that term means yesterday...
When Fonzie Jumped the Shark on waterski's or something on Happy Days...it's a "point of no return" when the novelty has worn off, the appeal is gone, and the show goes downhill...
It's equated usually with TV sitcoms...there's a website about it...So many sitcoms are said to ahve "jumped the shark" when they add a new character out of the blue to try and get people watching again (usually in the from a little kid who has "bowl cut"..heh heh..)..So many american sitcoms have suffered from that malady (little kid with bowlcuts)...
Back to FR....possibly...I love the setting, but I agree...it's just been done to death...there's portions of thw world that could be elaborated on and many FR would like to see that..but sales would probably be poor, and not worth it in the long run...
EDIT:Yikes...alot of people beat me to the punch in that 2 minutes..
