Or just sell the entire D&D brand, lock stock and two smoking barrels.

My bet? They sell it to EA. 1 in 5 chance? That's pretty high perhaps, but still pretty good, all things considered.

I find this very unlikely. Hasbro tends to hold up their old lisences. I doubt Hasbro would let D&D get away from them. There may come a time when D&D is no longer published as a TTRPG, but I doubt anyone except for Hasbro would have the lisence.
