I think that novels should be something that WotC keeps digital-only unless something sells gangbusters and then they can make a special physical edition of it. A number of other initiatives could work like Kickstarters - only produced if they get a certain number of pre-orders, and in limited batches.

A number of other initiatives could work like Kickstarters - only produced if they get a certain number of pre-orders, and in limited batches.
I've wondered if they could start a DM's Guild like program for D&D narrative fiction (novels, novellas, short stories).

There would be, of course, a lot of subpar entries into that field . . . . but if it could produce enough diamonds, it could maybe, perhaps be something awesome?

I must admit I'd forgotten about those.

but in my defense I was thinking of those ones meant for children.
Tried to see if any kid costumes were out there just now, does not appear so.

But apparently Spirit Halloween has more grown-up costumes:
