WotC Hasbro CEO Chris Cox, "I would say that the underlying thesis of our D&D business is all about digital,”

Amazon reviews are really bad. Often it's something like "product arrived fast 5 stars".

And they rate from 4 to 5 stars range. Anywhere else that's about 50%. Worst adventure I've seen I would give a 5/10 (Tyranny of Dragons btw).
I went review diving. And I can't say if there are a lot of those or not, but mostly I saw reviews that were mixed but overall still liking it and giving a decent star rating.

Looking at the reviews and a lot of the many star ones have caveats in them but still overall like the set. Interesting.

I honestly think its the best thing since 2020 when looked at as a cohesive package, but thats just top of my head. I liked Fizban's as well.

Still crap kinda like rotten tomatoes. As I said everything pretty much falls into 4-5 star range. If you want to dig deeper see if you can find a review that isn't.

And there's some duds in the 5E range that shouldn't be anywhere near a 80% or 4/5 rating.

Gonna watch this later. Haven't seen it so no idea how they've rated stuff and there's a part 2. These guys make pretty good tier lists in my experience.

The big problems with Anazon reviews are they're reviewing the service, self selecting (you've already bought the product) and often rating the presentation (it takes 6 months to play an adventure?).

Peoples opinion about reviews are all over the place too.

Sly thinks its a better guadge than the ranking, which I don't agree with.

I think the overal review on products like books is fairly good. Lots of "delivered on time" ones but also lots of "left in my potted plant" ones to balance it out, I think.

Self selecting you've already bought the product. You're already positively inclined to want it.

You honestly think the worst 5E products are 4/5 outside of production values?

Literally no 5E product actually has a bad Amazon average. And "I liked it, but it fell short" seems like a pretty fair take on the Spelljammer set. It was just 32-64 pages and an editorial pass from greatness, which is maybe more frustrating than if it was garbage.

That first sentence is true about all reviews on purchase sites. I don't think it invalidates those reviews, not entirely. I mean I know that's there, it can't not be in any kind of purchaser review site.

I think the number of reviews was key for Sly. I think. That it can wash out a lot of quirks.

Well I've told you why they're crap.

Imagine a video game or movie review site and all the reviews were 80-100%.
