(Hauptman's) Red Hand of Doom

We should make the Ferry late afternoon. It usually runs till sundown if we get caught other side of the river there is an Inn of lesser quality available.

Run by an old hag named Halfra and her sister, food is good nuff but the beds have fleas and the room is a might smokey since the fire. Had to rebuild tha chimney they did.

Their halfwit nephew did the stone work an the room tends to pull the draft...

The prices are steep as well, they tend to take advantage of being the only Inn West side of the river.

When someone misses the ferry they seem to raise the prices a bit.

Anyways, when you've all had some breakfast and lazy Pip there gets the horses saddled - fraid you're on your own with the tiger M'lady....

Pip cuts in....

I ain't a fraid of the tiger at all! <looking a little white round the gills> It's just I never handled one fore.

Fastening the Goblin Slayer to her belt, Andie makes ready to head out. She tries to talk up Velka. I don't believe there are ticks in these parts. It's more mosquitoes that'll take a bite out of you around here, especially this close to the water. You should try a thicker set of clothes if you want to dissuade them.

Tully stands up and stretches his arms after a few moments warming up by the fire.

"Well, I think that settles it. I'd rather eat another breakfast of rations if it'll put me in a flealess bed closer to where we're going. I also don't feel like spending my evening in an overpriced, smokey common room if I can help it. Not much interested in hags or their sisters, to be honest. The more we talk about it, the more I'm convinced I rather swim the river than got stuck at that inn."

Tullivan walks over to Pip and helps him with the horses.

"Can't have you doing all the work or you'll end up as strong as me. That happens...well, they'll have you fighting the monsters and me tending the horses."

Visara snorts. You try and put a saddle on her; wouldn't be my fault when she ate you. Vivek is the chosen of Malar, not some tame cat.

Kyrgynn Talsos rises late, as is usual for the slumbering mage. Deep dreams of spellfire and mystical ritual are what keep him from being disturbed by the sounds of the breakfast party. He eventually stirs up muttering arcane murmurs of such" Ahr Khoveryth.. Sylehtashon Zohn Ghabrul..."
Looking about him he smells wonderful scents of cooking food! These are of utmost import to him for rejuvination of the energy for the concentration and will focus he requires to perfect his art.
He approaches Grad and Pip and greets all:
"Good morning all, it is not early afternoon yet I hope. Ah well, fashionably late, Grad & Pip you do need to wake me up when you're cooking such good smelling food. Ahaa, Tully and Taargash have of course beat me to it." Kyrgynn grins eyeing the sundry breakfast.

Not quite afternoon yet, but a few roosters enquired as to why you couldn't join them for morning tea. Andie jokes with the elven mage. I know you arcane magic-users need your rest and all, but I was for a while concerned we might have had to carry you to town.

Turning over to chuckle at the jibes from Adreena, Kyrgynn offers..
Yes, Adreena you already know me too well, if it were not that we were already in town it would be carrying me home on ye shoulders from imbibing of too much spirits you know.
Oh but do those midnight concoctions empower my arcane energies! I say, I am not held slave to the drink, but do we not crave a little urbane comfort, be it with some firewater or nay, before we engender the travails of the trails? I do see you're point Tully, about the quarters in a raggedy inn. Yet I do ponder the usefulness of some information gathering around town, no?

"Yeah Kyrgynn, we need to hurry and get into town where it's safe. Just one inn with no moat or stone walls is way too dangerous to spend the night. In fact why don't we just skip breakfast and run?"

Visara's brows draw together at Velka's comment, but then she shrugs.

Better to sleep under the stars than risk the treachery of men. But yes, let us make haste upon the trail.

With that, the feral druid chokes down another piece of bacon and grabs the rest. She then gives the rest of the plate to Taargash. After taking the remaining bacon to her tiger, she waits for the others to get ready.

Hmmm, yes we may not want to spend the night in the Inn at the town as it is apparent Visara and Tully. But the only question is, shall we stop through town to inquire about the keep, and then quickly move on? What do you all say?

I am ready to head to either locale, I would like to hear some more opinions.
