Have any of your PCs crafted a construct?

Hey, y'all. :)

I'm wondering--have any of your player characters collected the big wealth and known the big magic to create a construct? A golem, guardian, etc (basically anything you'd need the Craft Construct feat to create)?

If so, which construct? What level was the PC? And was it worth it? :)

In a campaign I am in, we earned the rights to control a clay golem, and the party wizard constructed three minor "worker-golems" from it. That way, we didn't use an XP-cost and saved on materials.

I had a player craft a Shield Guardian under 3.0 rules, but it didn't really last all that long due to some pore tactics on the players part. Within a session of finishing it, he left it to take the brunt of a meteor swarm in his place.

i had a PC gain a flesh golem. but he didn't make it. ;)

it didn't last long.

edit: for those who haven't played it. it was from
S2 White Plume Mountain. the flesh golem was # 9. the players got it right away. not b/c he was the only non-prime number but b/c they were all huge Beatles fans. coo coo cha choo. i am the walrus. Col Pladoh is the EGG man. ;)

I've had a character create a homunculus, a crawling claw (or is that undead), and that little golem that picks locks whose name escapes me.

But nothing big.

I'm playing a wizard in a friends game who is the seventh desciple of an order of wizards (Master passed on information to student, who passes on to his student, etc) that is determined to create a new species.

The DM is letting me have free reign of the Mongoose Publishing books "Crossbreeding" and "Constructs", and a little bending of the rules besides... I might be able to do it by the high teens.

Go me. :)
