There is still no sense of wonder to be found in my Iron Heroes hack page. None at all!

You do realise that you have just described my first DM from 25 years ago!

Add that to a GM I had about 6 years ago where they wanted a sim-city campaign even though we were playing D&D (Ok, so you plant the corn today and go to sleep. What? You want to adventure? A griffon comes down to attack your 1st-level PCs. You try again? A greater yougoloth appears and tells you that it is a sin to do anything that would exert yourself today, and he attacks).
True story.
I think I would rather have been smacked with the tome of the Hobbit than play through that crap.
