Have you bought any books because they won an ENnie?

Books the Ennies convinced me to look at and that I intend to buy:
Redhurst: Academy of Magic (Human Head Studios)
Grimm (Fantasy Flight Games)

I was going to include a Past Ennie Winners/Nominations I bought after they were brought to my attention, but I can't find it now. I know I bought some items that I would never have even looked at without the Ennie publicity.

The Ennies lend weight to purchasing decisions, but do not dicate them.

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is as follows:

The fact that a book has won an ENnie certainly raises my eyebrow, such that I am much more likely to investigate a book with this prestigious distinction. In a marketplace saturated beyond bursting, I submit that anything which encourages potential buyers to view a product or brand in a more favorable light is an invaluable asset. There are far too many products available for the average individual to peruse them all, much less invest his hard-earned ducats in each and every one. The ENnies encourage RPGers to consider products they might have otherwise overlooked, which- however unfortunately- is not quite as quantifiable an advantage as some publishers evidently require.

One might compare an ENnie in the RPG industry to a Newberry award in the industry of children's literature. Do these marks necessarily cause buyers to run to Barnes & Noble in a heated fury? Nah. Do they vastly improve sales by increasing interest? You can bet your ass they do.
