Have you decided to change systems?

While I experiment constantly, trying out new systems at least three times a year, I mainly play my favorites, Traveller (Classic with Homebrew Modifications), Mutants & Masterminds and Star Trek (Icon System by LUG). After thirty years of gaming and the fact that I rarely get a chance to do it these days, I deserve the right to play what I enjoy, lol.

Unless specifically requested by my players, I don't play D&D in any form. I think 3.0-3.5 is by far the best version of the game ever put to paper, but the game itself dosen't excite me any longer the way the aforementioned ones do. Reason? Unknown to be honest. Partly D&D is too familiar, too expected. I like tweeking and modifying and trying new things with less rules. Just my style these days.

papastebu, I think you've basically nailed it there. btw, I'm glad we had this little side-discussion; we actually went from disagreeing to agreeing.
I think, actually, that we agreed from the outset. I just wasn't getting what you meant, at first, because of the way I think of that "I'm OK, you're OK," thing. To me it's just another way of saying "Live and let live."
I wasn't thinking in terms of getting all the ideas out there to make a decision that was best for everyone at the table. I was thinking more about personality conflicts and people not getting along because of their preferences being different, which is also a game-ender.
I'm pretty pleased with the results of our discussion---and alot of times, having a "discussion" here just results in two opposing views being aired without a resolution---too. I am in favor of people not having arguments, unless they are constructive, rather than the kind that tear others down. Anyway, thanks for the use of your head! :) I think my pizza is burning, so I gotta go!
