Have you ever been DMed by a famous game designer? The EGG or Monte?

Just curious if you've been DMed by a famous game designer like EGG or Monte?

And, if you have, was it any different from being DMed by an "ordinary" person?

Were they an UNBELIEVABLE DM or were they just like your buddy, Fred Blogg's, adventures.

**NOTE** Please don't mention names if you had a bad experience. I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything coz I ain't evar been DMed by EGG or Monte (or anyone like that). :)

Chris Pramas was my first 3E DM (at a convention before it was officially released).

Ditto for Steve Kenson and M&M.

I have no idea if you consider them "famous" on a scale with Gary Gygax, but I think they are at least Monte's contemporaries.

Both were excellent G/DM's.

Bruce Cordell DMed me during the 3e launch fiesta at GenCon. Surprisingly, he seemed a little flustered at the time; I think there was a lot going on, and it seemed like he wasn't used to running games for strangers.

I also got to sit in once on a game with some pretty fantastic players: Jeff Quick, Monte Cook, Sean Reynolds, and more. Chris Perkins ran the game, and he is one of the best DMs I've ever gotten to play under.

Poor Bruce had probably just escaped from a mob of irate Planescape fans.

PKitty, did Bruce run with a lot of crunch at the table (ie. dice-rolling, feat-use, monsters, skill-use, etc.), or was the game mainly story-based with a lot of rulings made on the fly?

I was DMed by a guy named Rusty Dick (no really, that was his actual name; he had a brother named Harry too, I kid you not). He was pretty famous. 'Cause of his name, I guess.

Please don't ban me, I'm telling the truth! :(

Does David Kenzer of Kenzer & Co. count? Or Andy Collins. I played in demos run by both of them at GenCon this year. It was a lot of fun. Makes me want to try out some of the other designers.

A member of my group has gamed with E. Gary Gygax. He said it was fun, but didn't give any details about the man's style.
