Have you ever been to Walt Disney World?

I've been to WDW a few times since I've been married. Really enjoy going there. The big hotels are great, especially Animal Kingdom Lodge (waking up to see zebras and a freakin' giraffe outside your window. How awesome is that?)

Epcot in particular is very cool. A couple of trips have been in the off season, during their Wine and Food expo in Nov., eating and drinking around the countries of the World Showcase.

One bad moment... getting stuck in "It's a Small World" ride with .... that music... playing over, and over, and over...

The only way it could be better is if they disallowed children from the parks

I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World. For me, Disney World was the better of the 2, with EPCOT being my favorite part.

Hitting NASA while I was down there was plenty cool, too. And, as I recall, Barnum & Bailey have a permanent installation in that neck of the woods as well.

I have been once, back in 2003, with my sister and parents. Epcot was my favourite part, though we only went there and the Magic Kingdom. I kind of wish there was more to the castle... It is kind of, um, shallow. I wish we had had the time and money to go to the other parts. Disney was smart when he added Epcot on. That is the part that keeps the adults coming back I think. We went in February, a time for which the heat was atrocious by our standards (80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit... and we are from Southern Ontario). The only thing that really disappointed me though, particularly personally, was when we were leaving the Magic Kingdom, looking around while standing in the Market Square, there was a Donald Duck actor both there and in sight in front of the castle. Kind of killed the perfect, immersive aspect for me. I would go again, though not before getting to a lot of other places I would like to see a first time.

I kind of wish there was more to the castle...

Cinderella's Castle? It has a princess makeover salon down at street level, but the main part of it is a gourmet restaurant upstairs, where characters from Cinderella make an appearance. The dining room has a fantastic view overlooking the whole Magic Kingdom, and the food is excellent.

It's hard to get into, though -- you'd need to make reservations months in advance.

The problem was, I felt, that it is really just one giant facade. You walk in through the " gate " and it is only, what, 25-35 ft. to the other side? I was expecting it to be more, you know, 3-dimensional.

From what I understand, there is a private section to the "fairytale" castle- my Church's Music Minister proposed to his wife there- probably a suite in the restaurant Pbartender mentioned.

Yep. My family ate at the restaurant -- Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table | Walt Disney World Resort

As part of the meal, you get your picture taken with Cinderella, and the kids get a toy wand or sword (girl or boy). And Disney Princesses (not just from Cinderella) walk around to the tables.

Unfortunately, when we dined there, our boys were not impressed -- I guess the whole experience leans more toward girly interests.

There are at least 4 levels in the castle, including the special suite: Cinderella Castle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I've seen the first 3 floors when we went to lunch there.

But even with all this, I think the castle is meant mostly as a landmark to be viewed from the outside.

The one in Florida?

I spent a day there and a day at Epcot back in 82 or so. Epcot was still being built (safari section anyway).

I had fun despite the lines. Epcot I enjoyed more than Disney.

I don't remember a lot (nearly 30 years ago).
