Have you ever felt your ability scores change?

Frankly, I'm losing Wisdom at a frightening rate -- if it doesn't stop or slow down, I'll hit the "unconsciousness with nightmares" of Wis 0 within 20 years.

Three years ago I could haul ten pallets of lawn sod by hand and not give it a thought. Right now I'd have trouble with a twenty pound bag of charcoal. Jobs change. I can still lift myself with one hand, though. Up until recently I could climb a 50ft series of bays without using a ladder. Now I can't change a lightbulb.

So my STR and DEX have suffered. I'd like to think my newfound tolerance for pain has increased my CON and WIS though.

Everytime I drink. CHA goes from 08 to about 16.

You know that's actually your Wis dropping, right? :D

I had my wisdom teeth out a while back. They gave me nitrous, and I bloody well hated it. I know that my mentals dropped, I could feel it, and it scared the hell out of me. Never again!

Not really. Although I do take a bunch of skill modifiers from intoxicants like everyone else.

But I don't think our attributes really change; instead, we get more and more larger and larger increasingly complex circumstance modifiers to different sets of skills as we age. For instance, I now get +1 to all Cha-based skill checks with devout Christians to go with my +2 when conversing with the politically active. Of course, then there are the the opposite sorts of things like -2 to all Dex-based skill checks when more than 10' from a stove which stacks hideously with the -2 to all Dex-based skill checks when being watched.

I have definitely felt myself level though. I recall leveling during a radio debate nine years ago; I distinctly recall the moment when I went from Scholar 1/Politician 2 to Scholar 1/Politician 3. I got a new feat and everything. Or maybe it was a class ability.

I recommend against the class, though. You're far better off taking levels in Rogue and then switching to the Politico PrC when the time is right. You get way faster Sneak Attack progression that way.

Ever since my childen were born I have felt my constitution dropping - I think they are sucking it from me to feed themselves.

Oh, and you would think that your wisdom would increase when you have children, but I am sure that I have lost ground on my Will save.

I figure I take somewhere in the neighborhood of 1d4-2 points of Dex damage during each Tae Kwon Do class. Fortunately I only go to class twice a week...
