Well, have taken some steps to get ready for it. Mostly for any apocalypse, locations on maps for safehouses, good places to find gas, stuff like that.

Now, if it is "fast" zombies...I could be in trouble.

I've imagined what I'd do in the case of a ZA; I find it an entertaining thought exercise. And I have a couple of swords and several firearms, so given an hour to organize, I would be decently prepared for such an event. My home even has a nice choke point at the top of the stairs.

Bullgrit

This has already been mentioned by another poster, but where I am when the outbreak occurs would make a big difference in my chances. Where I live the roads can get pretty joked up, but there are a lot of boats. I suspect people with access to those will have a better shot of survival. I'll probably end up dying in traffic.

There is a prob}lem with bodies of water: zombies don't breathe airnd are capable of spending an unknown length of time underwater before decomposing. This means you could never drop anchor anywhere near land because a zombie might climb up you anchor line to have itself a feast.

Sure, but I would take that over the threat they pose on land.

I should make more preparations. Build a few shelves in the basement for long term stores. A few totes of useful equipment and such.

There is also the dread possibility that everything we learned from zombie movies is dead wrong. Sort of the like when they tried to ice zombies through the skull in Return of the Living Dead and they just kept coming.

I have definitely given thought to how I would survive a zombie apocalypse. I would most assuredly die. I have three small children, one of whom is handicapped and can't walk. I'm sure I would not make it out of the initial onslaught.

If I did survive the first wave of killing, my family has a cabin in the northern woods of MN that I would head towards. It has no electricity and you have to pump water into the cabin to get any kind of running water so the lack of utilities would not effect me too much. There is fishing and hunting galore up in those parts, too. It is also fairly isolated so I feel like we might not run into that many zombies.
