This poll made me realize that, no, I don't think I ever have. Weird. I've played a lot of things, but I've never actually played a gnome.

I have nothing against them, it's just never happened, and I've been playing for 20 years, frequently with up to 3 games at a time.

I'm playing a gnome just now. He is quite fun to play except for being grafted to a stone floor in some tower of doom at the moment.

He also has really bad luck with the dice. Whole sessions can go by without him rolling a single roll over 7.

Absolutely!

If you squeeze them just right, the sound is not unlike the bagpipes.

I prefer to play with an accompaniment of fiddle or banjo.

I just gave up the DM role for a few months to prep an adventure for GenCon. But starting Monday, my buddy are playing twin Gnome Psions. I actually get to play D&D!:D

I've played one Gnome in 3E... a Psion/Pyrokineticist. He... um, well, doesn't have a lot of friends. He sets lots of fires. Not too popular in towns, either...

I played one but he was a major NPC. Nabberbee. Ambassador to the human lands from Nibbleheim (the gnome lands). He was a lot of fun.

I never played Gnomes in 1E or 2E, but I have played one in 3E...

Brock the subteranean Druid... Unfortunately he was killed by a Bugbear and stupid party tactics in Sunless Citadel :(
