Well, since I wasn't a reviewer at first...

Well, even then, I bought a ton back then. Now I am a bit more discerning, and now I have decided that I really don't get much use out of adventures. And finally, now I look for reasons to buy new stuff. "Updated to 3.5" is usually not enough to entice me.

Also, consider that when 3e came out, I really didn't have any background with the system and was buying things more based on what seemed neat that what I use. I still buy some things I think are neat in the hopes that I will someday use them, but other things I don't use that rot on my shelves, so I just stopped buying them. Mostly, I am talking about supplements for settings I am not actively running.

Gone way, way down. Most of the stuff being released by WoTC I have very little interest in purchasing. I will probably pick up the XPH, eventually, but there's no huge rush since none of my current players want to play a psionic at this point. I use my own homebrew, so Eberron means nothing to me. Most other worlds are also crap for me because they don't fit my setting.

What is actually funny though most times in the last ten years when my purchasing has dropped, my actual time spent gaming has shot up drastically. I have a dedicated group and I'm having a blast with them.

My purchases have gone way down. My experience was not good with the Mongoose books and several other third party books. Even with WOTC I regret buying the Manual of the Planes..., Dieties..., Epic HB, and Psionic's HB, etc... My future buying is going to be much more focused on books that know I can use and after reading the reviews I am more likely to enjoy.

Not that you want to hear this necessarily, but I was buying almost everything out there until Arcana Unearthed came out.

I decided not to buy that, and have since not purchased any non-d20 items. Not purchasing OGL-only items saves me $$.

That said, my purchases have remained the same, BUT I buy a lot more on e-bay now, since I can't afford to buy them new.

I'd love to get the Mongoose "Classic Play" line, for example, but there's no way I can justify paying $34.95 a pop, so I'll wait until I can get them on e-bay for under $10. Same goes for all other d20 publishers whose products aren't available through amazon for 30% off and free shipping. (So, for me, WotC, Bastion Press, MEG, the SSS-family of products (d20 only), Alderac and Green Ronin are the only ones I'm looking to buy new at this point.)

The only exception I make to the above will be for d20 Necromancer Games products released through Troll Lord Games. I'll buy those new from FRP Games.

Stable. I have caught up and stayed current on buying all the Necro products, I have made major headway in buying Troll Lords and Goodman Games material, and I have gotten everything I have wanted from GR. Plus I finally bought D&D 3.5 since my PHB 3.0 spine decided to split one day.

I am seriously considering the Arduin book and i will get the Conan books once the reprint is available. Hmmm. Maybe I am spending more.

I'm starting to feel a bit "saturated" in terms of product -- nowadays I only buy stuff I'm really interested in whereas before even vague interest would entice me.

Besides Eberron and Iron Kingdoms and probably Grim Tales, I don't have any plans really to purchase much of anything else this year.

Maybe the Malhavoc Bestiary in print form, because I don't much like trying to use pdfs.

My purchases have remained the same, but I buy less D&D now. My initial 3E "purchase flush" has shifted towards other d20 games, or to other game systems entirely. I realized about a year and a half ago that I was buying tons of D&D, but didn't need it all. I can count on one finger the number of sources outside of the core books, the 3E splat books, and the FRCS that our group has used in a game. Plus, I kept hearing these marvelous stories about Spycraft, and Feng Shui, and Savage Worlds, and I remembered the days when I used to play Battletech, and Alternity, and other systems, and said, "there's a lot more fun to be had," and so I've been trying and buying other systems ever since. Mutants and Masterminds, Spycraft, Feng Shui, Continuum, d20 Modern, etc. Currently, we've played ONE game of Feng Shui, and 90% of the group is begging for more, so I'm running more.

THe gaming ain't slacked off, it's just moved around a bit.

Spending is way down here, there's just not much coming out that I want, or it's redundant. Like Mearls, the WotC books aren't even automatic anymore. The last book I bought was an Ebay'd version of Ultimate Equipment Guide, and that was just for a project (and it got dinged on the way, so in the end I won't have spent any money on it :D ). Before that, like Mearls, I can't even remember, probably Underdark.

My spending is way down. I already have far more than I can game with, so the incentive to buy more is low. I don't have enough time to play all the games I've got going now, and I certainly don't have time to sit around reading game books. I haven't even read all my Xmas purchases yet!
