As everyone approaches, Raven sees no objection and opens the door.

The door leads to a sizeable room, about 30ft. deep by 70 feet long. There are numerous, large (about the height of a man) rusty cauldrons clustered in the southeast corner of the room and several rotted kegs and wooden debris are piled along the south wall. All along the east wall, numerous pieces of paper have been tacked up which containing diagrams, text, and blocks of numbers. Along the north wall, there is a small cot, which looks as though it is rarely used. The room is odd in that it has no windows, and the roof appears to be in decent shape.

Two long tables have been set up in the middle of the room, both covered with papers and ink vials. At the far end of the near table is a large book that matches the description that Professor Reeger gave you for the Codex of Bone. There are two wooden crates on the floor next to the nearest table, and a young man in faded yellow robes is methodically stuffing papers into one of them. One of the "black veiled women" is loading papers into the second crate.

Near the cot, a cultist is curled up in the fetal position, his back to the party, weeping and muttering to himself quietly.

None of the three looks up, or changes what they are doing when the group enters.

Fang paws at the air in the direction of the yellow robed man and whimpers up at Shoot.

OOC: Spot check: 1+4=5. OK, then...

IC: "Freeze! Don't touch that codex!" Raven shouts and charges. Perhaps she should give the cultists a chance to surrender, but she's in a bloodthirsty mood, and feels the cultist's have yet to demonstrate any common sense.

OOC: Raven moves to J20 and swings her longsword at the blackveiled woman's head. Raven isn't 'charging', and continues her predilection for defense by using her combat expertise for defense. Attack: +2 1d8+2 AC 18. I'll roll a sneak attack dmg, too, in case I'm flanking the head or catch it flat 'footed'. :heh: to hit 19, dmg 5 sneak 2.
 


Unsure of what to do, Seat just moves out of the way so the others can enter the room. However, something tells him that not everything is what it seems to be. "Loris!" shouts the dwarf suddendly.

ooc: Move to 21-K. Spot check total is 15
 

OOC: Hmm, everybody roll initiative once more. There isn't a surprise round, but it also doesn't seem like everybody is looking to fight. But it'll be important in a few moments anyway. We'll resolve Raven's attack once we've gotten an initiative order.

Raven shouts her warning and moves towards the black veiled woman with bloodlust on her mind.

When Seat shouts out, the man in yellow robes looks up slightly in his direction, but then shakes his head and continues to obsessively pack the crate in front of him. The other occupants of the room continue to ignore the party.
