Head of the class (stonegod judging)[Concluded]

Anvuss, Seat, and Shoot are not delayed long by the watchman's questioning, and are able to leave while he is questoning Professor Reeger.

Raven, in the meantime, is thus far able to follow Tali. She notes that he is quite skilled at slipping into shadowed areas, and his footfalls make nearly no noise. Several times she loses sight of him, but she always manages to spot him before he gets too far away from her. William appears to not have noticed his tails.

OOC: Do Anvuss, Seat, or Shoot mention the armored man who ran away, or the red robed cultist that they released? It is relatively obvious that mentioning them would cause them to be delayed by the watch further, answering questions. And mentioning that they let a khyber cultist loose in the city would likely be poorly received.

No need to play through the minutae of that scene, unless you want to. I'm also assuming your characters play it a little close to the vest in order to keep to Professor Reeger's request for "discreet". If any of you don't like the way I've handled that, let me know and we'll go back and play through it.

It never occurred to Anvuss that it might be wise to provide the guard with more information than was required to get him to take the prisoners away. He fails to provide any additional information, which is fortuitous, as he also has a very limited understanding of "discreet."

Seat describes what happened almost accurately, except that he's intentionally vague on how many people there were, since they were all in the office and couldn't see if there were actually more of them outside - in any case, they didn't see more of them. If the guard requests the motives of the group's presence in the office so late, Seat says that "It has to do with academic information related with artifacts recovered in the mournlands" wich is technically true but implies that the group is actually a group of adventurers that recovered a lost treasure, not what really is going on, and then proceeds to derail the answer, talking about the religious customs of Cyre's ethnic minority groups and then to even more esoteric matters.

Shoot was content to follow Anvuss's lead. To the extent that the watchman questioned him, he gave the simple truth, nothing more, nothing less. And when the questions were not directed his way, he simply remained silent.

Anvuss, Seat, and Shoot finish up with the watchman and head back out the eastern gate, where the "Bedlam Boy" is still waiting. Seat sees a brutish looking man standing in the shadows of a nearby alley. He is dressed in studded leather armor and has a solid looking club belted at his waist. As the three of you approach, he looks at Seat and says, "Only three of you? Well, maybe yer tougher than ya look. So, I 'spose ya want me to tell ya where these cultists are hidin' out?"

"Yes, that would be much apreciated. Being able to find the enemy is an important, if frequently overlooked, stage in any conflict."

William leads Raven and Tali through several twisting streets, although Tali has little difficulty following him. Tali stops in an alley a few blocks down when they reach Wicker street, and William goes into an obviously abandoned building. A faded sign with a picture of a loaf of bread still hangs above the door facing the street. Four blocks further down the street, Tali can see two men in chainmail guarding the door of a building. He can see lights inside, and several people appear to be inside. Above the door with the guards, a sign with a golden raven painted on it hangs motionlessly.

William is in the abandoned building only for a brief moment before he comes out again, and hurries down the street towards the Gilded Raven. He nods to the guards, who don't appear to even notice him, and heads into an alleway next to the building, presumably going around back.

The man nods and says, "Right then, there's a few places they're at. They're all in walkin' distance of Wicker street though, so we'll go there first. Follow me." He starts down the street.

Anvuss follows along behind the guard as quickly as he is able, in a clanking rumbling hustle.

ooc: I've been meaning to ask this for a while now: what race are the cultists we've seen so far? Human?
