Heart of Artifice Temporary 2--Aethelus Alone

"Yes that should be fine, thank you."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"I wish you the best of luck. I will ask Naugrym to provide two staunch and loyal guards to keep you safe, Aethelus. As a visitor from another world and a Spark, you are a wonder who could bring much hope to the people, and that is why the evil ones will always desire to destroy you. Here, take this token of mine, would you? I hope it will bring you good fortune."

*Jade removes one of several silvery ornaments that are helping to hold back her long hair, a small charm in the shape of a snowflake and she extends her hand, offering it to Aethelus.*

Aethelus accepts the charm and tucks it away. He would prefer to keep it out of sight unless needed.

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Then farewell and stay safe," Jade bids him in parting.

*As Aethelus prepares to begin his search, he is met by two guards.*

"Arioch reporting for duty."

"And Iuvart here."

"We'll make sure you stay safe, sir. Please lead the way."

 

[Erekose13]

"Thank you Arioch and Iuvart. To introduce you to our 4th member, please say hello to Lana. She will be joining us but staying out of site unless trouble rears its ugly head again. I think we should start with the location of the first incident to see if we can find any clue to the attackers who fell upon the two of us. If there are any clues there, we'll pursue them, otherwise we'll set off in that direction. Perhaps they had meant to prevent my entry from somewhere. Keep your eyes peeled for any danger men." says Aethelus.

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Hiya folks," Lana peeks out, "Hey boss, what direction? The direction that they ran away?"

*The team heads over to the place where Aethelus was attacked, but they don't see any obvious clues there.*

 

[Erekose13]

Aethelus will do a more thurough search asking, "Do either of you know anything about tracking? No? No harm in asking. Lets see if we can find anything in the direction they took off."

 

[Rystil Arden]

"No, that is not part of our basic training, I am afraid. Sometimes Sparks have devices to help track, though."

*They head off in the direction where Lana saw them run. It leads through some other alleys and past the theatre and a residential area. It seems to eventually lead out of the city, though they could of course have changed directions at any time in the warren of alleys before then.*

 

[Erekose13]

"Not much of a lead after all. Do either of you know much about the city and its environs? Any guess what lies further on?"

 

[Rystil Arden]

"Can't say we're around here often, but as far as I know, there aren't any important buildings out here. Course, I guess it doesn't have to be an important one, does it? It could just be one of the warehouses they use as a front, or they might even have headed to a place where they stashed a flyer and quitted the whole island."

"You're a Spark, right? Don't you have a device that would help?"
