Heliopolis

Greetings everyone,

The group in my online game has been split up into smaller groups, and they are each off exploring separate sidequests. I have one group which I am preparing to send to Heliopolis, the home of the Mulhorandian pantheon in the Forgotten Realms. I've been searching through all of the sourcebooks, but I've unfortunately been unable to find very much information on the plane, save for that which is in the Player's Guide to Faerun. Therefore, I thought I'd seek out some of the knowledge here at EnWorld. Where can I get information on the Forgotten Realms cosmology, and more specifically, Heliopolis? Are there any good Egyptian adventures out there that I could run? I'm considering researching Egyptian mythology and trying to fill the setting with that sort of feel if I can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Josh

the only thing that springs to mind for the pantheon is 2e's Powers & Pantheons. there is a section in there about the Mulhorandi & Untheric pantheons.

for adventures there's an old 2e Ravenloft adventure Touch of Death that very 'egyptian' themed w/ a tomb and mummies and all that good stuff.

3e you can go wrong w/ Gygax's Necropolis, another 'egyptian' themed tomb crawl and very brutal.

those were what popped into my mind.

Give a shout out to MulhorandiSage (Scott Benni, if I recall his name correctly).

He lurks on ENWorld occasionally and is well known on the Realms-L list as THE source for all things Mulhorandi.

There is also the 1e desert of desolation series of modules where you explore an egyptian tomb.

There is the hollow world stuff with Nithia, both a sourcebook and a module.

There is the 1e FR forgotten empires supplement

The 2e red wizards one has a bunch of stuff since they are an offshoot of them.

The 2e gods books did have good history stuff on them and their fight with the orcs after being gated in to FR.

Haven't kept up that much with FR 3e, just the CS, and magic of faerun.

Green ronin has a book on D&D Egypt, Hamunaptra as well as their testament one having more historical RW based egypt stuff.

Avalanche has War in Heliopolis, mostly a poor historical Egypt D&D book but has a really cool series of adventure seeds and a little characters in mass battle random event chart. It is available as an inexpensive PDF at www.dtrpg.com

There is GURPS EGYPT which would likely be very good as most GURPS sourcebooks are.

Bastion press has a cheap pdf lore of the Egyptian gods.

Thanks a ton for all of your help, I'm going to look into the products that were brought up. I think I've seen some reviews of Hamunaptra here at EnWorld, so I'll check them out as well. I've been impressed by many of Green Ronin's products.

On another note, what is Cooperative Dungeon and when does it come out?

Does anyone here know how I can get in touch with MulhorandiSage? I'm afraid I'm a bit new to Enworld and I'm not exactly sure of how one would go about contacting another poster.

Once again, thanks for all of your help,

DM Fiery Fist
