So 10th lvl character... just throw me some ideas.

Prestige Classes ? Which do you recommend ?
New ideas for Magical Items for Spellcasters ?

10th lvl Wizard or Sorceror in FRealms ?

Mostly I really need ideas for 4th and 5th level spells which I havent read a lot because I never had a high level mage in 3rdEd.

Take the Empower Spell feat. You can use it on more spells than just the flashy evocations. Use it on for example Mirror Image and Endurance and Cat's Grace, etc..

Ok some fast spell questions.

How do most DMs adjucate Telekenisis ? I remember the shooting 100 arrows trick... I wouldnt allow that... so what DO YOU allow your spellcaster do to with Telekinisis ?

Energy substit... Sonic ?

Poly other is too limited ?

Forgotten Realms spells ! Any suggestion up to 5th lvl ? I havent read beyond 3rd lvl... any favorite / recommended spells ?

Firebrand. I cannot say enough good things about this spell. When your party in mixed together in a messy brawl with trolls, Firebrand will sort things out real fast.

Prestige classes for sorceror ?

It really depends on what PrCs you're interested in, what books you have access to, and what your DM will allow.

Sorcerers make good war wizards. One way to go is the War Wizard of Cormyr, from Magic of Faerun. Arcane Devotee from FRCS goes nicely with the War Wizard PrC, because the spellcasting and feat requirements overlap, making a couple levels of Arcane Devotee really cheap for a War Wizard.

Later down the line, Archmage is a great PrC for sorcerers, evokers, and war wizards.

Elemental Savant works nicely for a themed sorcerer, except it requires they take the Education or the Cosmopolitan feat to meet the Knowledge: The Planes requirement at a decent level.

If you like the dragon-blood angle of the sorcerer, you might like the Dragonscribe PrC from Dragon magazine.

If you're looking for some power gaming advice, aim for the Incantatrix or the Guild Wizard of Waterdeep (both from Magic of Faerun).

If you're a sorcerer, any prestige class that adds +1 to spellcasting level every PrC level, you lose nothing by taking it. Well, ok, maybe nothing is severe. Familiars don't gain in abilities with PrC (I think) and a PrC limits your feat/skill progression to perhaps certain ones you wouldn't otherwise take. Of course, it should match the kind of spell caster you envision, min/maxing aside.
