You might also check to see if there is an EN World Gameday nearby. If you drop a location into your profile, many of the organizers will pipe up to let you know they are holding a gameday.

I agree that this is a great idea (and I'm not just saying that because I'm the organizer of the NC Game Days ). I introduced one young lady to gaming at one of our Game Days and she not only had fun but found a regular group to join as a result.

If you just happen to live anywhere near North Carolina, check out the link in my sig. Our game day is this coming weekend! And if you live just a tad further north then I also know that there is the Northern Virginia Game Day the following weekend.

I have just become a stepgrandfather and one of the things I'd like to do as my grandson gets older is instill in him a sense of independence but also social values. One of the things about D&D games I've observed is the cameraderie. Now, I'm a computer game player since the days of Atari and haven't played D&D in all the 30years it's been around. So is there a place for a 60yr+ game player to start playing the D&D games? Remember-I want to do this so that later I can use the gaming skills I've learned to expand the mind of youngster.

Great idea on your part and I hope you find (or start) a group (everyone's already posted the good suggestions)!
