Help buying a monsterbook

I just found out that Monsternomicon ( now sold out ) will be reprinted sometime in 2005 with a 3.5 update ( no other details yet - BTW people - The IKCG has been sent to the printers! :D ).
Both of these pieces of news make me happy in ways that are probably illegal in at least 24 states. I knew there was a reason I held off on the Monsternomicon (aside from not being able to find it anywhere...)

Book of Fiends is pretty damn gritty. The Fiend Folio may not be exactly grim and gritty, but the Fiendish PrC's and the Graft rules can make for a fairly interesting game...

I don't know the Monsternomicon but after reading all the praise in this thread, I'll consider to have a look at it when I get a chance to.

In the meanwhile, I'd suggest to have a look at the BOOK OF FIENDS (Green Ronin), FIEND FOLIO (WotC), the TOME OF HORROR 1+2 (Necromancer) or DENIZENS OF DARKNESS (Ravenloft - Arthaus). The upcoming LIBRIS MORTIS from WotC might also be a nice buy...

Of course if you don't mind dual stats in your books, you can always pick up Keeper's Companion 2 from Chaosium for Call of Cthulhu. Can't get much more dark and scary than that. ;)

What Chaosium books have d20 Cthulhu monster stats in them? Are they OGC or licensed similarl to Ravenloft?

I echo the others call to get the Tome of Horrors. I has all the classic 1e/2e monsters! Can't go wrong with those!
