Help me be a better banda er healer

Bourbon and Dice
I have a dwarven fighter that for campaign reasons has become a favored soul. Unfortunately I'm the only person that can do healing. The barbarian/druid can, but generally doesn't memorize healing spells. I'll most likely be sticking with favored soul from here on out, again due to campaign reasons.

I've just hit 6th level and I'm looking for a good feat to take. I thought about scribe scroll to expand the number of spells I can cast in a day. I've also thought about brew potion so I can give out healing potions to the party. I've also thought about picking up leadership so I can get a 4th lvl cleric as a cohort. Built right, he could pick up a lot of the healing slack.

I've also been looking at possible prestige classes. But the majority of divine prestige classes require turn undead as a prerequisite, which I can't do.

Pretty much all of the WOTC books are available and 3rd party books are as well (with DM approval)

Ftr 2/ Fav Soul 4
Feats:
Lvl 1 - Sheild Specialization(Heavy)
F 1 - Power Attack
F 2 - Cleave
Lvl 3 - Improved Toughness
Lvl 6 - ???
Lvl 9 - ???

Any one have any suggestions?

Get the group to buy some wands of cure light wounds, and each character that can use them does so, rather than just you spending resources on healing.

I agree with this, each charactr dishes out 750 gp after the next big score , in addition to buying a few potions of curing for themselves will help you out greatly. The scribe scroll route is definetly the cheapest way to go for healing in both xp and gp cost to you. No way to mix in some levels of cleric for your self?

Hi!
Try to get Deity’s Favor [PH II, p. 43] as Alternative Class Feature.

Replaces: You do not gain weapon focus or weapon specialization (you still gain proficiency with your deity’s favored weapon).
Benefit: At 3rd level, whenever you cast a spell, you can choose an ally affected by the spell (including yourself) to gain temporary hit points equal to 3x the spell’s level. At 12th level, you can choose to grant these temporary hit points to any number of allies affected by the spell.

Enjoy

I wish I could buy wands. I tried the first few sessions to see if I could get my hands on some to no avail. The DM is running a very low magic game. Heroes, villians and high level NPC's are about the only ones with access to magic. I've pretty much been told that buying magic (other than potions) is pretty much not going to happen. What potions I've been able to buy have been in very limited quantities. And of course with realisticaly scripted encounter sequences, we don't get much down time once we get rolling on the enemies of the week, we go through them like water.

I was thinking about taking the Leadership feat and getting a 4th level cleric as a cohort. If he specialized in healing it would help take the load off of me. Then I found out in today's game that leadership doesn't work the same in his campaign ( Seems to be a common theme). It's more like the marshal's aura from how the DM described it. No cohorts.

So far, it looks like my best bet is to get augment healing, scribe scroll or brew potion. Not the best options in the world. I don't really like augment healing. It's a good benefit, but a minor one. Scribe scroll and brew potion would be nice, but it's looking like they may be difficult campaing wise.

Given what you've posted, the DM's apparently not too comfortable with high-level play. That's too bad. :(

You'd be foolish to take Scribe Scroll, Brew Potion, or Leadership in this DM's campaign...and I'm not convinced he wouldn't nerf Augment Healing as soon as you started using it.

Instead of working on healing, perhaps you could work on buffing the party...and thus preventing them taking damage in the first place. What's your current spell known list look like? Perhaps the feat you want is practiced spellcaster......

Eeks? Low magic game with fullscore magical classes like the Favored Soul or clerics? Bad idea.

What about asking HIM how you could improve your healing schtick?
